Q. Can you tell me about your preschool?
A. The Shaloh House Preschool & Kindergarten of Stoughton has been serving families in the south shore for over twenty years. We are licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education & Care. Bright and cheerful classrooms, a large well equipped outdoor playground, Early Childhood licensed teachers, and an intimate environment will welcome your child.

Q. What about your curriculum?
A. We believe that it is never too early for a child to learn. A lot of emphasis is placed on teaching children to understand the world around them. We work to strengthen their fine and gross motor skills. As they get older they begin to explore nature and people that influence their lives. Learning takes place through hands-on activities. Early literacy and math skills help them develop their pre-reading and writing skills when they enter Kindergarten.

Q. How is Judaica brought into the curriculum?
A. Through stories, songs, and finger plays, Hebrew vocabulary, holidays, customs and ceremonies are incorporated into our everyday curriculum. Each Friday we have a Shabbat celebration which adds a festive and joyous twist to the day.

Q. How old must my child be to enter?
A. We offer programming for children 15 months through Kindergarten. We will accommodate the individual needs of each child, and allow them to develop at their own pace.

Q. Can I choose my child’s schedule to fit my child care needs?
A. Yes, we have part-time and full-time programs. You may choose 2, 3, 4,or 5 days a week. You may also choose an optional lunch hour. You will just be asked to decide your desired hours in advance when you register.

Q. What if I need to change my hours?
A. You may adjust your hours as long as you notify the director in advance. We can also accommodate temporary changes if space is available.

Q. What if I work full time? Do you have before and after school programs?
A. Yes! We recognize needs of working parents. Our center is open from 7:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. We will provide your child with a “Home away from home” environment.

Q. Must my child be toilet trained?
A. No, our staff will work with you and your child when he/she is ready for this transition.

Q. Do you serve food in the center?
A. Yes, we will provide a mid morning and afternoon snack for those children staying for extended day. Children staying for lunch must bring a kosher dairy or pareve lunch.
